Gwyneth Jean

Holistic Practitioner and Holistic Nutritionist

Hi, I’m Gwyneth, holistic practitioner and founder of foundedbyflora.

The more I learn about different types of the natural world, the more I question why we’ve created solutions for issues that already have answers in nature.

Flora, ecosystems, and the body all carry great intelligence. My work is rooted in the belief that the body is not something to be fixed, but something to be understood and supported.

At foundedbyflora, I help people move beyond symptom management and begin to understand what their body is communicating. With a focus on the gut–brain connection, I use functional testing, nutrition, herbal support, and lifestyle guidance to guide clients back toward balance and into optimization through a root-cause approach.

Modern healthcare often focuses on silencing symptoms rather than understanding them. I believe symptoms are signals, information the body is trying to share in a language that can sometimes be difficult to understand.

Symptoms aren’t something to fear, they’re something to hear.

I’ve always been drawn to the intelligence of nature. The gut plays a central role in this intelligence, through the interweaving of mind and body, shaping digestion, mood, energy, intuition, & more.

Instead of forcing the body into correction, I focus on creating the conditions where it can regulate and heal itself, as nature intends.

That means stripping things back, reading the story, and rebuilding from the basics, creating space for the body to heal naturally.

If you’ve tried everything and still don’t feel aligned in your health or potential, you just need a different approach...

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Why is gut health so important for overall wellbeing?

The gut is the foundation of the body’s internal environment. It plays a central role in digestion, nutrient absorption, immune function, inflammation regulation, and energy production. When the gut is out of balance, these systems are affected, which can show up as fatigue, skin issues, brain fog, mood changes, and more. Supporting gut health creates the conditions for the rest of the body to function more efficiently and in greater harmony.

Question 2: What is the gut-brain connection?

The gut and brain are in constant communication through a complex network of nerves, hormones, and biochemical signals. In fact, the gut sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the gut. This connection influences mood, stress response, focus, and emotional regulation. The gut is also home to a large portion of the body’s neurotransmitter activity, which is why gut balance is so closely linked to mental clarity and emotional wellbeing.

Question 3: How is this approach different from conventional healthcare?

Conventional healthcare often focuses on managing symptoms after they appear. This approach works at the root level by looking at how the gut, environment, and lifestyle interact to influence overall health. Instead of isolating symptoms, it views the body as an interconnected system. The goal is not just to address what’s happening on the surface, but to support the underlying conditions that allow the body to regulate, repair, and restore itself more effectively.

Question 4: How do you support both physical and intuitive healing?

Physical health and intuitive awareness are not separate, they are deeply connected. When the gut and nervous system are supported, the body becomes more regulated and less reactive, which creates space for greater clarity and internal awareness. As physical balance is restored, many people begin to notice improved intuition, decision-making, and a stronger sense of internal “knowing.” The work focuses on restoring that baseline balance so both the body’s physical systems and inner signals can be experienced more clearly and reliably.
